Quilted Placemats - Soft Pink, Green, Blue and a little Gray

So my Mom went to Amish Country (fantastic tourist area in Berlin, Ohio) and found fabric scrap bags for sale. So she grabbed one and brought it home for me to play with. And play with I did!
I found some fabulous (as you can see) charm-size squares of this fabric in the bag and decided to go strippy with them!

While my favorite color is blue, I love all other colors as well. Especially when I get to play with several in one piece. I varied the sizes of the strips because the charms I was working with were also varied in size. Each placemat in this set is uniquely individual in that I did not use the same fabrics the same way throughout. Sure, they're all in strips, but they are all varied in which ones where sewn together.

I used just basic straight line quilting. I didn't want to detract from the beauty of the prints and colors of these fabrics! I used a matching fabric for the border that you won't find within the piece. I really loved making these and I feel the photos don't do them justice no matter how hard I tried to make them! :o)

As always, PLEASE NOTE:

My home decor items that I make are unique in a number of ways. Much of the fabric I use is either only available for a limited time (current holiday when made) or was made so long ago that it's not being made anymore and will be a bit tough to find more of. This means the items you choose to buy to decorate your tables, walls, etc will be unique to you because almost no one else will have one just like it (unless I was able to make 2 or 3 of the same; items vary)

While I'm very good at quilting and sewing, there is always the chance for minute crafting errors. I'm not talking about poor craftsmanship to the point that threads are loose, pieces are not lined well, or binding is falling off. I'm talking about a few stitches are on the top instead of in the seam. Or one corner folded differently than the other four. No one is perfect but I do spend the time to make my items hold up for continued use. (So long as you use them as intended and follow included care instructions)

So once these place mats are sold, that's it! They're gone! Hurry to my shop! http://quiltlydecor.com
