More fabrics from that awesome scrappy bag! These ones were already cut into 2 1/2" strips so I combined the two shades using one of my very FAVORITE designs! The original pattern for this uses varying fabrics for the middle "diamond" shape but I decided to use the solid color fabrics in this area and use the prints on the outer areas.
For the quilting, I used some fun meandering in the "diamonds" and basic tracing on the strips outside. Again with this fun prints, I didn't want to do too much quilting to detract from their beauty!
I did an interesting thing with the binding. As I said, these fabrics were all already cut into 2 1/2" strips. So to keep with matching, I took strips and sewed them together using my favorite method (not straight edge to straight edge, but on the diagonal to help the binding lie flat). I thought it turned out great!
As always, PLEASE NOTE:
My home decor items that I make are unique in a number of ways. Much of the fabric I use is either only available for a limited time (current holiday when made) or was made so long ago that it's not being made anymore and will be a bit tough to find more of. This means the items you choose to buy to decorate your tables, walls, etc will be unique to you because almost no one else will have one just like it (unless I was able to make 2 or 3 of the same; items vary)
While I'm very good at quilting and sewing, there is always the chance for minute crafting errors. I'm not talking about poor craftsmanship to the point that threads are loose, pieces are not lined well, or binding is falling off. I'm talking about a few stitches are on the top instead of in the seam. Or one corner folded differently than the other four. No one is perfect but I do spend the time to make my items hold up for continued use. (So long as you use them as intended and follow included care instructions)
So once they're gone, that's it! Hurry to my shop to grab these up! http://www.quiltlydecor.com
