Quilted Placemats- Sunny Yellows

Another strippy placemat! More scraps from the bag! These were also strips already cut in 2 1/2" wide but they were varying lengths. So I got creative another way. The whole time I was making these placemats, I kept thinking of the phrase "Sunshine, Daisy, Butter, Mellow". Why yes, I am a Harry Potter fan! These place mats are even more beautiful in person!

For the quilting, I just did fun waves across. They're easy enough and when using these pretty prints, I didn't want the quilting to overtake their design. I used just a solid yellow fabric for the binding.

About 75% of the time, I use a beige or cream colored solid for the backing of my creations. This one however, I happened to have some floral yellow to match. It wasn'tquite the same shade as the others but it still matches!

As always, PLEASE NOTE:

My home decor items that I make are unique in a number of ways. Much of the fabric I use is either only available for a limited time (current holiday when made) or was made so long ago that it's not being made anymore and will be a bit tough to find more of. This means the items you choose to buy to decorate your tables, walls, etc will be unique to you because almost no one else will have one just like it (unless I was able to make 2 or 3 of the same; items vary)

While I'm very good at quilting and sewing, there is always the chance for minute crafting errors. I'm not talking about poor craftsmanship to the point that threads are loose, pieces are not lined well, or binding is falling off. I'm talking about a few stitches are on the top instead of in the seam. Or one corner folded differently than the other four. No one is perfect but I do spend the time to make my items hold up for continued use. (So long as you use them as intended and follow included care instructions)

So once they're gone, that's it! Hurry over to my shop to get yours! http://www.quiltlydecor.com
